Why am I being tested?

Each patient is unique. State and Federal guidelines strongly recommend routine testing for any patient being treated with an opioid for more than 90 days. Your health depends on getting answers to your questions. Testing helps give you and your doctor the answers needed to make decisions about your care. If you have specific questions, please talk to your doctor about your concerns and your specific testing details.

Are my results kept confidential?

Dax Laboratories adheres to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations.

What type of testing is performed at the laboratory?

Dax Laboratories uses state-of-the-art urine testing technology to identify a wide range of medications and illicit substances. Our advanced technology eliminates false readings sometimes observed on point-of-care devices. Your sample will also be checked for evidence of tampering or adulteration.

How often will I be tested?

Some states have mandated the testing frequency, but your physician will determine the appropriate amount of testing to support your treatment plan.
